Situated in the Port of Barcelona and at the beginning of the famous Ravines, an agreeable walk (with a good connection of public transport in the crowded Plaza de Catalunya) takes us from the same Mediterranean shore up to the intermediate part of the hill that separates Barcelona of the Region of the Vallés, going up with the panoramic funicular towards Vallvidrera (with an intermediate stop in the carretera de les Aigües and its pleasant treks), up to the summit of the Collserola Park in whose top the Temple of Tibidabo and Norman Foster's tower give it a peculiar and fascinating silhouette.
It is from this top, where the new Skyline of Barcelona turns out to us, cut away over the sea, offering the most peculiar profiles of its singular buildings such as the newest Tower Agbar with its "peculiar" roundness, the imposing Castell de Montjuic, the Cable cars, the Tower Calatrava, the Palau Sant Jordi, the remodelled Palau Nacional and the flaming headquarters of the MNAC (Catalonian National Art Museum), the known Olympic “ring” with its Olympic Stadium and the impressive needles of the not less peculiar and majestic Templo de la Sagrada Familia (Temple of the Sacred Family), faithful reflex of its creator’s (Antonio Gaudi) personality.
